Our story & achievements

1997
In 1997, NBA All Star Bill Walton and several local beach volleyball enthusiasts installed 14 new beach volleyball courts and refurbished the basketball court at the South Mission Beach Sports Park.
2002
In 2002, the non-profit organization founded by Laura Hendrickson, noticed that the nets were falling off the poles, boundary lines were missing and the beach just wasn’t being well cared for. Since then, we have been actively raising money to maintain the beach volleyball courts at South Mission Beach all year round in order to facilitate events and tournaments for friends, families and community to enjoy.
2024
Starting in 2024, we have shifted to a new leadership change with Tee Nguyen as the new President who’s now leading a dynamic rebranding initiative with a new robust team.
Community Impact Grows
We are now furthering our volleyball community impact by hosting semi private beach volleyball clinics, led by an elite group of coaches with countless accolades to provide more opportunities to improve the skills development for the youth and adults locally.
Comminity
There will also now be an added South Mission Beach tournament in May along with the Big Kahuna tournament in September to bring the whole community together to compete and enjoy at our beautiful beach together!
